The Illinois Corps of Fire Chaplains has formed a steering group to identify needs for 2012 regarding
- A new ICFC organizational and training roster
- Coordinating chaplain training calendars in several MABAS Divisions
- Development of a Chaplain Handbook and streamlining of the membership process
- Periodic newsletter for the ICFC/MABAS Chaplain Program
These plans will enable the organization to do a better job at providing basic level training for all Illinois fire chaplains. Steering Committee members include chaplains from Calumet City, Carol Stream, Wenona, Magnolia, South Chicago Heights, Romeoville, and others. Two hospital chaplains currently seeking fire chaplain positions are also on the committee. I am very grateful for all the leadership being shown around the state and for everyone who works to make this organization succeed and grow.
The Illinois Corps of Fire Chaplains is now working with Fire Educator (www.fireeducator.com) to develop a series of online trainings for new and existing for fire chaplains. These courses are designed to help meet the training requirements for MABAS Fire Chaplains. Initial offerings, which should be available in early 2012, include:

AND ....The Illinois Corps of Fire Chaplains is now offering a line of official clothing and merchandise through US Safety Products. To order, go to www.ussafertyproducts.com and go to Member Store and then chaplains.
